We have had a busy summer of dancing at Ballet Arts this summer.
We started with our Preballet camp. The theme this year was Mermaid. Dancers started each day with a ballet class. We then moved into classes in folk dancing, gymnastics, rhythm training, stretching and so much more! A favorite part of the day was a ballet story and a tasty snack. Dancers played a mermaid game and created beautiful mermaid necklaces. At the end of the week we shared some of what we learned with our families. It was a wonderful week of dancing!
Our intermediate and advanced students spent a week at our Intensive. This year's intensive instructors were Dawnell Dryja and Cassidy Isaacson from Grand Rapids Ballet. Dancers participated in ballet and contemporary classes daily and were then able to take other various classes to further their dance education.
This year's Dance Camp was once again a hit! Masquerade Ball was a fantastic week of dancing. The dancers took part in daily tap, jazz, and ballet classes. They worked toward their favorite part, the performance at the end of the week. To prepare, students created their own mask for their costume, created a beautiful backdrop, and learned choreography to perform for their families. The performance was beautiful and the dancers worked so hard!
We are 1/2 way through our last summer dance offering this summer, 5 week Preballet classes. The 5 week session is an extension of our regular school year program. It is so exciting to meet new dancers to the studio and welcome new families to the BA family.
Be on the look out for Fall schedules, they are coming soon!!!
Enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing you in the Fall!
