Effective Monday, March 16, Ballet Arts will be cancelling regular dance classes for at least one week. Tentatively, we plan to resume classes on Monday, March 30. We feel that dance is an important and healthy outlet and want to provide that opportunity for our dancers. However, we recognize the serious concerns regarding the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and feel it necessary to take precautions for the safety of our dancers, teachers, staff, and dance families. We recognize that this situation locally, statewide, nationally and internationally is ever changing. We will continue to monitor State and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations and adjust our policies and plans as appropriate. We plan to use this week to provide intensive disinfection of surface areas of the studio including barres, chairs, door handles, counter tops, etc and to gather more information on how to best handle classes going forward.

When classes resume and until further notice we will be asking all Ballet Arts dancers and dance families to observe the following steps.

  1. Do NOT attend classes or visit the studio if:

    • You have or have had in the previous 14 days: Fever, Cough, or Difficulty Breathing (shortness of breath)

    • You have been exposed to anyone confirmed to have the COVID-19 illness in the past 14 days

    • You have traveled outside the United States in past 14 days

    • You have been in close contact with a scick person who has travelled internationally or been exposed to COVID-19

  1. DO wash hands (warm water, soap, scrub 20+ seconds) and sanitize hands often

  2. Limit visitors and wait time in the studio

    • If your dancer is age 10+ we ask that you do NOT wait in the lobby/building during their class.

    • If your dancer is 9 years old or younger, we ask that no more than 1 adult per dancer and no other children wait in the lobby/building during class time.

    • Please do not be in the studio any longer than absolutely necessary and limit those entering the building to bare minimum.

Please continue to monitor our Website and Facebook page for updates on any changes in policy or class schedule going forward.
